This outstanding central London Secondary School is looking to appoint an invaluable asset to the school staff. Due to the current post holder relocating the post of Data Manager is available from November and offered on a permanent basis!
Purpose of the Job:
You will be responsible for the use of systems in school in raising standards and performance across whole school. You will instrumental in creating, overseeing and developing the school’s use of data for the Senior Leadership Team and Teaching Staff. To utilise data to inform on value added performance of individual teachers, subjects and departments.
Some of the Tasks involved:
ORGANISATION
1. Advise and assist the Principal in reporting to the School Improvement Partner, Governors, School Development Advisor and Ofsted Inspectors in target setting and detailed analysis of school performance;
2. Support the Principal in curriculum reviews with Heads of Department on results and data analysis;
3. Create and prepare complex strategic and operational data analysis for Heads of Department by key stage, year groups, set group. Exercise highly developed training skills in order to ensure that “non data specialists” can translate data results in the classroom to impact on student achievement;
4. Lead staff through target setting process, data analysis, value added data, Raise Online and other processes – via whole school delivery of teaching staff INSET using own materials and systems;
5. Provide theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge in a specialist area of data in schools;
6. Establish and implement an effective target setting process in line with statutory/LA requirements;
7. Be responsible for the production of reports and arranging the distribution to students following liaison with teaching staff;
8. Strategic leadership for all aspects of SIMS
9. Strategic leadership of data
10. Presenting to and liaising with SLT colleagues
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Training of governors on data and interpreting results, findings and understanding;
2. Responsible for ensuring all teaching staff meet deadlines to ensure statutory requirements for reporting are met;
3. Comply with and assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person;
4. Be aware of and support diversity and ensure equal opportunities for all;
5. Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others.
6. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Department/Section.
Experience
ESSENTIAL
1. Knowledge of ICT skills to support the data management of the school system and the analysis of whole school performance.
PREFFERED
2. A history of working with or caring for children and young people, ideally in a similar environment
3. Experience of data management using SIMs
4. Experience of target setting
QUALIFICATIONS/ TRAINING (Essential requirements)
1. Relevant degree in IT or Business or Higher Level qualification
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS (Essential requirements)
2. An ability to analyse and manipulate data in a logical methodical and accurate manner;
3. Expertise in use of IT and specialist equipment;
4. Ability to self evaluate and activity seek opportunity for improvement;
5. Resilience and ability to work well under pressure. Effective time management.
6. Willingness to work within organisational procedures, processes and to meet required standards for the role;
